A bear market is a sustained decline, conventionally a 20% drop or more from recent highs. Crypto bear markets are brutal because they arrive with forced liquidations, exchange failures and a collapse in new-user interest.
They are also where the next cycle is built. Projects that keep shipping through a bear market tend to be the ones that matter when demand returns.
