Binance KYC Rejected or Stuck? How to Get Verified
Binance verification fails for reasons that have nothing to do with whether you are who you say you are. A photo that is slightly soft, a name that does not match your bank account, a glare across your ID โ any of these will bounce the application, and the rejection message rarely tells you which one it was.
This is about the second attempt. What went wrong, how to fix it, and what to do when the app has been sitting on your case for days.
Why applications get rejected
Most rejections fall into four groups, and they are worth separating because the fix is different for each.
- Image quality โ blurred text, cropped corners, a finger over the document number, or a photo taken of a screen instead of the paper
- Data mismatch โ the name on your ID does not match the name you typed into the account, including middle names and diacritics
- Expired or unsupported documents โ an ID that lapsed last month, or a document type Binance does not accept for your country
- Liveness failure โ the face scan did not match the photo on the document, usually because of lighting or glasses
If your rejection notice named a category, start there. If it did not, work through them in that order, because image quality is the most common and the cheapest to fix.
Fixing an image problem
Reshoot rather than resubmit the same file. Lay the document flat on a dark, non-reflective surface. Use daylight or a lamp positioned to the side, never a flash directly above, because flash washes out the holographic strip and the print quality check fails on the glare.
Get all four corners in frame with a small margin. Do not crop tight to the document edges โ the automated check looks for the full rectangle. If you are photographing a passport, open it to the photo page and press it flat; a curled page blurs the machine-readable zone at the bottom.
For the selfie step, remove glasses and hats, face a window rather than a ceiling light, and hold the phone at eye level. Do not smile. The liveness check compares your face to the document photo, and a different expression or angle counts against you.
Fixing a data mismatch
Your legal name has to match your identity document exactly, character for character. Three things break this more often than anything else.
First, middle names. If your passport shows two given names and you only entered one at signup, the check fails. Enter the full legal name.
Second, diacritics and spelling variants. If your ID reads "Josรฉ" and you typed "Jose", or your document uses a transliteration that differs from what you entered, the strings will not match. Copy the spelling from the document rather than from memory.
Third, name changes. If you have married or legally changed your name and your documents are not consistent with each other, submit the document that matches your account name and resolve the inconsistency with support rather than trying a different combination.
When verification is stuck
A case that sits in review for more than a few days is usually waiting on a manual check, not lost. Before contacting support, confirm three things: your submitted document has not expired since you uploaded it, the account name matches the document, and you have not submitted multiple applications in parallel.
Submitting a second application while the first is open resets the queue position and is a common reason people wait far longer than they needed to. Wait for the first decision.
If it has genuinely stalled, contact support from inside the account rather than by email, so the request carries your account context. Include the submission date and the reference number if the app showed one.
What you cannot work around
Some failures are not fixable by resubmitting. If your country is not supported for account opening, no amount of document quality will change the outcome. If the document type you hold is not on the accepted list for your region, you need a different document, not a better photo.
Do not attempt to verify with a document that is not yours, and do not use a VPN to present a different country. Both are detected, and both turn a fixable rejection into a permanent account restriction.
Frequently asked questions
How many times can I resubmit verification on Binance?
Binance allows a limited number of attempts before it locks further submissions, and the limit is not published. Treat each attempt as final: fix everything you can identify before resubmitting, rather than working through the list one item at a time.
Why did my verification pass the photo check but fail later?
The document check and the liveness check are separate stages. A clear document can pass the first and still fail the second if the face scan lighting was poor or the face did not match the document photo closely enough. Reshoot the selfie step separately.
Can I use a driver's licence instead of a passport?
Accepted document types vary by country and change over time, so check the list shown inside the app for your region before you start. What works for one country is not a reliable guide to another.
